Mary Scharfe
Mary is a seasoned real estate professional and proud Manhattan native who brings nearly two decades of experience to her role as an agent with Back 9 Realty in Manhattan, Kansas. A graduate of Kansas State University with a degree in Finance, Mary began her real estate career in 2006 and has built a strong reputation for her industry knowledge, client dedication, and leadership within the real estate community.
Mary became a licensed Broker in 2014 and earned her Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) designation in 2017—one of the highest credentials awarded to residential sales agents. Over the years, she has served in multiple leadership roles, including representing the Flint Hills Association of Realtors (FHAR) as a Director on the Kansas Association of Realtors (KAR) Board in 2021–2022. She also served three years on the Board of Directors for the Manhattan Association of REALTORS (MAR) earlier in her career.
Beyond her professional achievements, Mary is actively involved in community service. She is a longtime member of the Manhattan Solar Kiwanis Club, where she has served as Past President and was recently honored as the Kansas Kiwanian of the Year. She also gives her time to local organizations, volunteering with the Flint Hills Bread Basket and participating in school PTO and Booster Clubs.
In 2011, Mary completed the Kansas Realtor Right Track Leadership Program and remains engaged with the alumni group, The Leading Edge. Her peers have recognized her outstanding spirit and dedication, selecting her as the REALTOR Spirit Award recipient in both 2011 and 2013.
Outside of real estate, Mary enjoys hiking, running, and training for 5K and 10K races. Her love for the Manhattan community and commitment to her clients make her a trusted and respected resource in the local real estate market.
